As does the need to strengthen relationships with the foundations, corporations,
and government agencies that sustain our work and the work of our Service
Providers Council.
The
140-member Service Providers Council (SPC) is an integral part of AFC
and has existed since we were founded 20 years ago. The SPC is comprised
of seven service-specific committees that help set priorities for AFC's
work in grantmaking, public policy, and programs. Through its committee
structure, the SPC enhances the region's system of HIV/AIDS services by
gathering service providers for education, collaboration, and outreach
opportunities. Our work in service coordination depends on the strong
partnerships we have forged with grassroots advocates, agency representatives,
government entities, foundations, and corporations. Pictured with AFC
Associate Director Shelly Ebbert, MPH are three of our principal partners.
They are Christopher Brown, MPH, of the Chicago Department of Public Health;
Elizabeth Lee of the Michael Reese Health Trust; and Andre Rawls, JD,
PsyD, of the Illinois Department of Public Health.
