Community Groups Submit Comments on CDC HIV Testing Implementation Guides In response to a CDC request for comments, the Center for HIV Law and Policy, Lambda Legal, and the AIDS Foundation of Chicago submitted two joint letters to CDC regarding its draft implementation guidance for HIV testing expansion in correctional settings and community health centers. The comments on correctional settings have already been endorsed by 35 organizations. The letters were drafted following consultation with individuals familiar with both settings. The joint letters underscore the need for CDC to more widely disseminate the draft guidance and invite additional comments from diverse stakeholders, especially HIV-positive ex-inmates, correctional health officials, and community representatives. Greater community input is likely to generate more targeted recommendations needed to help correctional officials and community health centers improve the response to HIV/AIDS in their facilities. Read joint letter, endorsed by 35 organizations, containing comments on the guide. Community Health Centers Read CDC's 'Issues for Community Health Centers' Draft HIV Testing Implementation Guide.
