Mental Health Forum: A Better Living with HIV

Keynote speaker Dr. Gary Harper

People living with HIV/AIDS and their service providers attended a one-day forum on mental health, wellness, and HIV/AIDS on July 15, 2004 at the John Marshall Law School. Participants learned about the critical factors affecting the mental health of individuals with HIV/AIDS. The event featured several keynote speakers, including Dr. Gary Harper, Cindi Mason, Dr. Jeffrey Watts, and Lisa Razzano, Ph.D.

Speakers focused on diverse, evidence-based mental health service strategies in order to address the pressing issues facing the HIV/AIDS community. Topics of discussion included the effects of alcohol and drugs on psychological disorders as well as HIV status disclosure and stress.
