Julie Davids presented innovative ways to engage youth in HIV prevention at the SPC's 10th annual HIV Prevention Conference.

On September 22, nearly 100 service providers, health officials, and people living with HIV/AIDS attended a daylong HIV prevention conference sponsored by the Prevention & Education Committee of the AFC's Service Providers Council.
The morning keynote speaker Tracy Fischman of Planned Parenthood Chicago Area spoke on the politics of sex education and the role that advocates play in Illinois, and afternoon keynote Barry Zack of Centerforce discussed effective behavior interventions in the prison setting. Participants also had access to workshops on the Prevention Evaluation Monitoring System, crystal meth and HIV, engaging youth in HIV prevention, interactive computer video prevention technology, and the state of current prevention funding.
The conference was preceeded by an evening forum on HIV prevention featuring Dr. David Holtgrave of Johns Hopkins University and Julie Davids of CHAMP.
