AFC Hosts Prevention Forums HIV prevention providers, consumers, and advocates joined AFC for two forums covering HIV prevention policy, research, and risk-reduction strategies. Gay, Sexy and Healthy: Wednesday, October 10, 2007, 6:00pm- 8:00pm This event kicked-off the HIV Prevention Conference (see below) with a lively discussion on the social and cultural factors that influence gay men of all colors and affect rates of HIV transmission. Special guests included Gregorio Millett and Dr. Ron Stall.
The Power of Prevention: Meeting Today's Challenges Thursday, October 11, 2007, 8:30am- 3:30pm This annual conference of AFC’s Service Providers Council Prevention/Education Committee included workshops on risk-reduction strategies for Latino populations, people with disabilities, transgender individuals, and men who have sex with men. The keynote address given by David Kern of NASTAD gave participants an overview on what is currently going on in prevention. For more information, please see below.
