AFC Partners with Local Schools Beginning in April 2006 several Chicago-area colleges and universities, in collaboration with the AIDS Foundation of Chicago, will hold community lectures on HIV/AIDS issues. In Chicago, youth comprise approximately 13% of recently diagnosed HIV cases; and nationally half of all new infections occur among young people between ages 15 and 24. For these reasons, AFC is supporting student groups, faculty, and academic administrators in jointly planning and implementing panel discussions and other educational events on college campuses around HIV/AIDS issues.
